Python and JavaScript: game programming in CodeCombat

CodeCombat is a multiplayer browser game, which allows to learn coding in JavaScript and Python. On each level a player is faced with a particular task - for instance, to find a mushroom, which can defeat an ogre, to lead soldiers into battle or get out of the dungeon. A child will run a wizard completing those tasks with the help of the spells - JavaScript and Python commands. To complete the whole game a player should remember all commands. It is easy in the beginning, but then the tasks get harder and a child has to think more creatively.

Before the classes we ask you to create an email for your child. Be sure to give your child login and password (written down on the paper or in phone), that information is necessary to have in the classes.

What do I need for the lessons?

For a successful class, your child will need a computer or laptop with pre-installed software, internet access (recommended connection speed - at least 20 Mbit/sec), headphones and additional equipment for better sound quality - a microphone or headset. Please make sure you have a stable internet connection before you start the course.
