Do you want your child to not only play, but also develop games for Windows?
Do you want him to become interested in programming, creating exciting projects? Do you want to demonstrate his success by showing the game that he posted on the website on the Internet?
If your answer is yes, this course is what you need!
The gaming industry is one of the most sought-after areas in the field of Information Technology (IT) - in 2019, the video game market is estimated at $ 151,100,000,000 (according to Newzoo analytical agency). And the threshold of entry into this market for beginner developers is getting lower every year. Now is the best time to learn how to create your own games and start making money on your hobby.
Moreover, the skills acquired during game development will also be useful in other areas of the IT industry - whether it is creating mobile applications or just writing programs for a PC.
During the course, students will learn, in addition to creating games, a few related skills from:
In order to help students master all this huge amount of information, CODDY developed a course for beginners, in which we teach children how to create games of various genres for Windows.
On the course, we will make several games - this is a top-view shooter, and the classic “Asteroids”, but with teleportation, bonuses and a timer, as well as a game in the “Tower Defense” genre.
We will add our music, our sounds and our pictures to the games - each game will be unique!
Development is conducted on the Construct game engine, which greatly simplifies the writing of code and speeds up the process of creating games. It will be easier for children to understand the programming of the game logic, which means that they can create several different games at once, or work through one of them really deeply and add many interesting functions to it.
After completing the course, students will learn how to create 2D games, upload them to the Internet, share them with friends, and they will also receive basic programming skills - in Construct, variables, loops, classes and other constructs are often used that every self-respecting programmer should know. Also, students who completed the course will find it much easier to start learning 3D game engines such as Unity and Unreal Engine.
After completing the course, the student’s portfolio will contain several ready-made projects that confirm his knowledge and experience, and will help in finding work if the child decides to connect his life with the IT sector in general and with the development of games in particular. Graduates will be able to refine and improve their projects, or write a game from scratch, and who knows, maybe your child will create the next hit.
Who is this course ideal for? For everyone who is interested in game development, but especially for those who have mastered Scratch and are ready to move on, but are not yet ready to master Unity due to the complexity of this game engine. The course is structured in such a way that even beginners who had no previous experience with either programming or creating games will be able to quickly get used to and integrate into the educational process.
"As a teacher conducting this course, I note that during the course, children become much more sociable, open and confident, they are not afraid to make mistakes, try new things, and they themselves look for information on the network to introduce new functions into the game. This is facilitated by a friendly atmosphere, teamwork in solving complex problems, and interesting tasks in which the student not only remembers the topic, but gets real development skills".
