Minecraft is not only one of the most recognizable and popular games in the world, but also a unique platform to turn the simple passion of the game into an interesting learning process. This game provides a huge scope for creativity, development and learning, and in some foreign schools it is even a mandatory part of the curriculum.

We have developed a course so that, while in the game, children become familiar with complex programming structures and practice the skill of writing programs in the JavaScript programming language.

About the course

The “Minecraft: JavaScript programming” course is developped for children aged 9-12 who are passionate about Minecraft. In the classroom, the children will master the basic concepts of programming - an algorithm, a loop, a variable and a function - and learn to apply the knowledge gained in practice.

During the course, the child will write his first professional program in JavaScript - one of the most widespread and demanded programming languages ​​in the world.

The acquired skills will allow you to build your own fantasy world in Minecraft. Along the way, the student will get acquainted with the processes of design and planning, develop spatial and algorithmic thinking, and learn how to translate his creative ideas into practice. Working in group, the child will acquire the most important of the so-called soft skills - the skill of cooperation and teamwork.

What skills will the child acquire on the course?

Students will become familiar with the basic concepts of programming, learn how to apply them in writing programs, and create their own team project in the world of Minecraft. The skills gained in the classroom will be an excellent basis for further learning programming.

The “Minecraft: JavaScript programming” course is a part of a two-year in-depth program to learn how to program with Minecraft (other courses are optional to enroll in this course):

• Easy Level: Minecraft programming (5 months)
• Intermediate level: Minecraft: introduction to artificial intelligence (8 months)
• Intermediate level: Minecraft: JavaScript programming (4 months) or Minecraft: Python programming (3 months)
• Difficult level: Minecraft mod development (from 3 months)

What do you need for classes?
