The Fundamentals of Programming and Algorithmics course, together with the Codewards educational platform, aims to train digital skills, develop algorithmic thinking and learn the basics of programming for children aged 6 and above.
Students do not need to have any special prior knowledge, they get everything they need to successfully complete the course, and the platform itself is designed to be as convenient and understandable as possible for everyone.
The course has been methodically tested in more than 500 schools.
In this course the child learns:

"Codewards" teaches "correct" programming
In class, children learn object-oriented programming, which means they write code immediately instead of pushing "blocks" around. This gives them a basic understanding of how code works and the ability to quickly adapt to any programming language in the future. Specifically for this course, we have developed a simplified version of CoffeeScript that is based on JavaScript. It is suitable for teaching with elementary school-aged children and has a much simpler syntax.
Easy to Study at Home
You do not need to install any special software to participate in the Codewards course. All you need is a web browser and an Internet connection to fully use the platform.
Playful methodology
Codewards is a fascinating world that the child enters as a rescue engineer. He has to complete missions, restore the systems of the underwater station, program robots and fight the evil Codawar. Scenario and game mechanics make the course really interesting for children. In this way, children's attention is maintained throughout the course and they are involved in the learning process and learn new material.

In addition to programming topics (object, instruction, program, algorithm, loop, nested loop), students are introduced to digital literacy topics:
- information: Concept, classification, storage and distribution (sources);
- interface: the concept, types, elements;
- input and output devices;
- the Internet and social networking profiles, basic network security.

At the end of the course, each child will receive an official certificate of completion from CODDY and Codewards.
